About The Bachelor Of Child Studies The Bachelor of Child Studies is made up of two programs; Early Learning and Child Care and Child and Youth Care Counsellor. Both programs emphasize collaboration and community leadership, equipping students with a combination of theory and practical skills to make a difference in the lives of children and youth.
About The Role The Bachelor of Child Studies (BCST) invites applications for a part-time sessional appointment for the Winter 2026 semester which will commence January 6, 2026 - April 25, 2026. The BCST is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, experienced and qualified Child and Youth Care practitioner with the ability to teach the following course.
CYCC 2216 001 Group Theory and Process
- Tuesday 1:00 - 3:50 p.m.
This course is designed to understand group theory and to learn effective group process and facilitation with diverse populations. Students will acquire the skills necessary to facilitate groups effectively. The role of groups in the treatment of vulnerable children, youth and families is explored.
Responsibilities Instruction: course delivery, including preparation of course outline, course activities, lesson preparation, assessment of student work, provision of feedback, and course D2L site and,
Administration : input of final grades upon course completion and regular communication with course lead and program coordinator.
Qualifications A Masters degree in Child and Youth Care, Counselling or a related discipline is required. Previous post-secondary teaching experience is an asset. Applicants must have experience working in Child and Youth Care and/or counselling, and facilitating groups.
