The Supervisor, Marketing Communications – Chamber Engagement oversees the delivery of marketing and communications initiatives that support awareness, engagement, referrals, and growth across the organization’s portfolio. This role is responsible for managing the day to day execution of integrated marketing projects and campaigns, with a meaningful focus on channel marketing for the Chambers Plan through Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade across the country.
Working closely with regional managers, the Chamber Relations team, and internal marketing partners, the Supervisor develops and delivers effective, timely, and measurable marketing and communications plans that align with business priorities. This role plays a key part in ensuring that Chambers are considered as a core distribution channel across marketing initiatives, bringing strategic insight, coordination, and consistency to how campaigns are planned and executed.
In addition to hands on project leadership, this role serves as a project manager on multi faceted marketing and communications initiatives, overseeing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment. The Supervisor provides guidance, coordination, and leadership across projects and contributors, helping ensure work is well organized, priorities are clear, and initiatives are delivered effectively.
-As a supervisory role, this position is primarily office*‑based, with work‑from‑home flexibility available in accordance with the Johnston Group work‑from‑*home policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple marketing and communications projects simultaneously, with accountability for workflow, deadlines, and reporting
- Coordinate campaign elements across digital, email, web, print, events, and partner channels to support business priorities
- Act as a liaison between the Chamber Relations team and the Marketing department, developing deep expertise in Chambers as a distribution channel and ensuring they are considered in all marketing and communications efforts
- Support regional managers by planning and coordinating marketing activities that reflect local market needs while maintaining brand consistency
- Develop and maintain partner ready marketing toolkits, templates, and communications assets that are easy for Chambers teams to deploy
- Supervise one individual contributor within the department
- Oversee digital platforms and tools used to communicate with Chambers of Commerce, including monitoring and reporting on engagement metrics
- Manage content development and execution for regularly scheduled meetings, including regional Chambers meetings, Advisor meetings, and the CCEC annual conference
- Manage logistics and execution of related events, including semi annual Chambers of Commerce Insurance Corporation of Canada board meetings
- Attend local Chambers of Commerce events as required
- Coordinate with external partners such as designers, printers, event vendors, and digital suppliers to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget
- Prepare briefs, manage quotes and timelines, and confirm specifications to ensure quality and consistency
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, project management, business, or a related field
- Minimum four to seven years of professional experience in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
- Ideal experience includes working with a Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade, association, member based organization and or experience in financial services, insurance, group benefits, or an adjacent industry
- Experience with people management and leadership
- Strong professional communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, partners, and clients
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
- Excellent writing and editing skills for partner communications, marketing copy, and campaign materials
- Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and follow through across multiple workstreams
- Experience using project management software, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and basic knowledge of design and layout software is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities
- Knowledge of the Chambers network is considered an asset
