About the role

Job Description AAA Canada is currently looking for Electricians to bring their expertise to our team. Under the supervision of the foreman, you will be responsible for the installation, connection, and repair of electrical and electronic systems onboard ships. You will be involved in all stages of the process — from reading electrical plans to wiring, diagnostics, and commissioning of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shipbuilding electrical plans and wiring diagrams.
  • Install, connect, and maintain electrical and electronic systems onboard vessels.
  • Assemble connectors and wire various types of components.
  • Install cable trays and perform sealing of electrical penetrations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions.
  • Participate in equipment commissioning and provide technical support as required.
  • Work in compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards specific to the maritime industry.
  • Collaborate closely with other trades to ensure successful project completion.

Work Schedule

  • Day shift: 4 days x 10 hours per week
  • Evening shift: 4 evenings x 10 hours per week
  • Weekend shift: 3 days x 12 hours (paid for 40 hours)

Skills And Qualifications

  • DEP in Construction or Maintenance Electricity or Electromechanical Systems, or DEC in Electrodynamics or Instrumentation and Control or Industrial Electronics, or
  • Valid CCQ card (1st year apprentice or journeyperson)
  • Successful completion of the federal security clearance process (residence in Canada for at least 5 years without interruption of more than 6 months).
