About the role
True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for dependable and motivated individuals to join our Culinary team at Canada Life Centre.
As a Banquet Cook, youwill be responsible for preparing safe, nutritious and appetizing food while delivering superior service at Canada Life Centre.
What to be excited for in this role:
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
- Prepare, cook and assemble menu items according to established recipes and standards using quality methods in a timely manner.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure quality control and log them.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling techniques.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service employees, management, and other stakeholders.
- Help train new kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
- Perform other duties as required that align with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a cook is preferred.
- Experience in catering and breakfast is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking methods, and food preparation techniques.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance.
- Capability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
