Job Summary The Project Manager (PM) will directly support the Director of Professional Services to successfully execute on a portfolio of enterprise-level Helm CONNECT software implementations.

The PM will bring an experienced and well-honed skillset to Helm Operations, leading the planning and delivery of complicated projects. The PM will be required to exhibit the highest level of schedule, scope, budget, and quality management skills. They will show excellent business acumen and professionalism when interfacing with senior project counterparts on the customer side. The PM will show project leadership and bring a toolkit of best practices and knowledge to help improve project delivery and Helm Operations.

Job Description The Project Manager (PM) will directly support the Director of Professional Services to successfully execute on a portfolio of enterprise-level Helm CONNECT software implementations.

The PM will be required to exhibit the highest level of schedule, scope, budget, and quality management skills. They will show excellent business acumen and professionalism when interfacing with senior project counterparts on the customer side. The PM will show project leadership and bring a toolkit of best practices and knowledge to help improve project delivery and Helm Operations.

The PM will also be expected to offer knowledge and guidance to the Implementation Specialists including: implementation best practices, situational judgement, project prioritization.

Your Responsibilities & Key Tasks

  • Accountable for the successful execution of designated implementation projects.
  • Improving Helm’s project methodology with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Plan and manage a range of internal and external projects of varying scope, complexity and impact.
  • Manage projects from concept to implementation, ensuring designated project resources clearly understand requirements and are adhering to schedules and deadlines.
  • Lead project scoping and develop detailed project plans and budget.
  • Coordinate project schedule and deliverables with other Helm departments.
  • Prepare project status reports at regular intervals, providing updates on project deliverables and action items. Include monitoring and reporting on project budget, project scope and related expenditures. Will work with client(s) to address any time or financial budget concerns.
  • Manage consistent communications with customer(s) throughout the life of the project, ensuring ongoing awareness of project progress, and addressing related concerns.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of project-related issues and problems, recommending solutions and taking action to ensure that roadblocks are cleared and the project remains on schedule.
  • Track and manage product feedback pertinent to project success.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables have been addressed, and the customer is satisfied with the outcome.
  • Enter all billable and non-billable time accurately and on a daily basis.
  • Setup and manage project Harvest buckets (timesheets software) and monitor timecards to ensure accuracy.
  • Drive revenue through upsell of services and the Helm CONNECT Product.
  • Manage and minimize white space in order to maximize revenue generating activities.

  • Exhibit leadership qualities in executing projects with considerable latitude for independent judgment.
  • Become knowledgeable about our customers in the workboat industry and their sub-verticals, such as Harbor Docking, Inland Barging, and Coastal Barging.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Be goal-oriented and achieve stated objectives with help and direction from management and peers.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and able to handle challenging situations with composure, professionalism, and courtesy.
  • Strive to outperform the departmental KPI benchmarks; KPIs include project delivery and revenue targets.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player, with a positive can-do attitude and solid work ethic.

Your Qualifications

  • Diploma, Degree or Technical Certification in related field or proven equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years previous experience in project management.
  • Professional and mature with the ability to develop quality customer relationships quickly.
  • Proven proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to travel by car and/or plane. May include weekend travel. Ability to travel internationally is required. Current valid driver’s license and passport are required.
  • PMP certified.
  • Scrum master certified.

  • Project portfolio reporting - Weekly reporting to Director of Professional Services.

  • Maintain project management designations

  • Services revenue – 2x salary minimum

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
