The Afternoon Shift Warehouse Worker is responsible for safely contributing to the overall effectiveness of the warehouse department by performing a variety of activities relating to customer product shipments and general warehouse operations. This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate assembly and shipment of customer orders, while maintaining compliance with all company and provincial safety and environmental standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manual picking of customer orders in a safe and efficient manner, using RF handheld scanners Labelling East Penn products accurately using correct tags or labels Building customer orders and preparing pallets for shipping Safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, pump truck) Regularly completing pre-shift equipment checks and maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards throughout the warehouse environment Participating in scheduled inventory cycle counts, when necessary Consistently maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Experience, Skills & Competencies

3+ years’ experience with order picking, shipping, receiving, and other general warehouse duties Experience operating forklifts or other similar material handling equipment (valid certification NOT required) Experience working in environments with a plethora of product SKUs, requiring strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Willingness and ability to frequently lift loads of up to 50 lbs Willingness and ability to occasionally push, pull, or move loads of up to 100 lbs Very strong communication abilities in English (reading, writing, speaking) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a broader warehouse team Strong initiative and high levels of personal responsibility Ability to follow all policies, procedures, and processes, with strict adherence to all company and provincial safety standards (previous experience with WHMIS and TDG a strong asset)

Other Considerations

Satisfactory results from background checks including criminal record checks and professional references are a condition of employment Applicants who are interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date Hiring range for this role is $20-22 per hour plus afternoon shift premium (actual salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
