About the role
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected and innovative organization in their search for a Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance professional to make a meaningful impact in community work, overseeing critical accounting operations and contributing to the organization's mission of strengthening communities through bold ideas and collaborative action.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data

Partner with leadership to drive financial planning, audit preparation, and donor reporting

Develop and maintain robust accounting systems and controls, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards
-
Collaborate cross-functionally to align accounting operations with investment and donor reporting needs
-
Preparing financial reports on monthly/quarterly/annual basis for senior management in accordance with regulatory expectations, as well as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and donor activity reporting
-
Act as a main point of contact for audits and ensure compliance throughout the process.

Lead an existing Accounting function, with the expectation to offer guidance, mentor, and oversee performance of more junior accounting staff

Provide operational insights that could have a positive impact on the accounting function in terms of efficiencies and overall improvements to standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
-
Extensive experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in mission driven environments
-
CPA designation
-
Proven ability to manage financial operations and lead accounting teams
-
Strong understanding of fund accounting and compliance requirements for registered charities
-
Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities
Rewards:

Compensation $85K - $110K
