Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
NURS4472.03: Critical Care Nursing (Winter 2026)
With the focus on critical care nursing in the intensive care area, students will further develop, critically analyze, and apply knowledge gained in previous courses with a focus on the management of critically ill clients. Emphasis includes working with clients across the lifespan and inter-professional relationships and collaborative management within specialty practice.
This is a 3 credit hour course delivered online asynchronously.
This appointment runs from January 1 – April 30, 2026, and the part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies Academic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic

Teach course content
-
Assessment and evaluation of student learning

Use of Brightspace for course delivery
-
Responding to student queries about coursework
-
Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
-
Participation in course discussions within the program
-
Develop and administer examinations
-
Submission of grades
-
Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in critical care nursing. Prior teaching experience an asset. PhD preferred. An active RN license with NSCN is required.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
As per CUPE Collective Agreement
