Note: This position is available for remote work within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or North Western Ontario, however, client facing or internal meeting travel may be required locally, within the region or to head office.
What is the opportunity?
As a Business Development Officer at RCAP Leasing, you will proactively develop new and grow existing vendor partner origination relationships across our Manitoba, Saskatchewan and North Western Ontario (MSNWO) markets. You will research, develop and assess the viability of new acquisition opportunities within RCAP’s targeted diversified markets with a focus toward increasing market share and profitability. You will collaborate within the sales team and with partners across the bank to strengthen relationships and deliver a differentiated client experience.
What will you do?
- Establish strong working relationships with origination vendors & manufacturers in various industries including Industrial, Security, HVAC, Food and Beverage, Franchise and other potential future markets as identified
- Forecast volume activities for monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Ensure that all volume targets are successful achieved while simultaneously maintaining strong portfolio profitability
- Examine current competitive trends in vendor and RCAP’s marketplace, propose a sales & marketing strategy aimed at growing volume and profit by establishing primary flow of business between vendor and RCAP Leasing
- Educate all appropriate employees on the principles of leasing as it relates to their industry and competition, as well as the guidelines of the established business flow
- Research and remain informed on the vendor’s business, competition, market conditions, and how they relate to RCAP Leasing by attending sales meetings, trade shows and workshops with vendors & colleagues
- Establish credibility with vendors and RCAP Leasing colleagues to act as a sales and leasing advisor and demonstrate professionalism at all levels of dealings. Take ownership of both individual transactions and vendor relationships and ensure that all parties are enabled to support the customer
- Analyze all challenges that arise from relationships with the goal of short and long term resolution for vendors and RCAP Leasing
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities to add value to new or existing relationships by introducing partners from RCAP and RBC
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum of 5 years of proven B2B sales experience
- Proven track record of driving significant, above average business growth
- Strong relationship builder, skilled at building and leveraging internal and external networks to support client acquisition
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Proficient with CRM as sales management and tracking tool
- Strong ability to effectively multi-task, priority set, manage time and your calendar to optimize your business growth
- Ability to delegate work within a team environment to achieve goals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online communication tools
- Must be able to travel within the Region on an as needed basis. Estimating little to no travel to start with expanded requirements based on employee location compared to location of key clients
Nice-to-have
- Direct or indirect vendor financing/leasing experience
- Experience writing and submitting credit proposals/presentations and financial statement analysis
- Working knowledge of RBC products and services, fulfilment applications, systems and tools
- Bilingual communication skills (English/French)
