About the role
Job Purpose The customer service representative is responsible for providing a high level of customer service in a timely manner. This position is the first point of contact for customers visiting the store and for phone calls to the sales desk and will provide support for the hardware receiving and purchasing department as required.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting customers in store and phone calls to the sales desk in a friendly, professional manner
- Monitoring and responding to emails in a timely manner
- Processing cash sales and charge account orders
- Reviewing and processing returns/refunds
- General store maintenance tasks such as restocking shelves, merchandising, cleaning etc.
- Stocking and maintenance of specified store departments under the direction of store supervisor
- Providing support to the outside sales team as required
- Providing support to the receiving department as required
- Providing administrative support
Accountabilities
- Providing a high level of customer service
- Maintaining a tidy, organized station at the sales counter
- Maintaining a tidy, organized store, including keeping floors clear of any tripping hazards.
Competencies Minimum 2 years in a customer service role
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional customer service manner
- The ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment
- The ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of the building supplies industry or related experience is an asset
Working conditions
- Full time 40 hours per week
- 30 minute paid lunch break
