Position Summary

The successful candidate will install, commission, and service integrated electronic systems and related equipment in Division schools and buildings.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • installing and commissioning of security systems, card access systems, delayed egress systems, public address systems, CCTV and audio equipment

Education/Qualifications

  • two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Electronics or Communications
  • trade ticket in a related field will be considered
  • valid Alberta driver's license
  • field installation experience in a school or institutional environment

Skills and Abilities

  • demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • must have the ability to: lift up to 25 kg; climb ladders, work at heights, undertake tasks involving frequent bending and kneeling; cramped or confined spaces

  • must be able to: undertake tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity; distinguish between colours

  • good problem solving, organizational, time management, and record keeping skills

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • computer literacy

  • ability to work independently or in a team environment

Rate of Pay

$44.41 per hour with an advance on expenses of $450.69 bi-weekly

Nature of Work

Closing

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; shift work may be required

The successful candidate:

  • must be prepared to use personal vehicle to travel to Division schools and buildings
  • must provide all trade related hand tools
  • must satisfactorily complete required occupational health and safety courses provided by Edmonton Public Schools
