What is the Opportunity?
The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) is seeking dynamic sales professionals to join our growing sales team and make an impact in music education across Canada, US, and globally. We are looking for candidates who thrive in prospecting and closing new businesses while growing existing account’s revenue. You will be part of a team that will be the driving force of RCM’s ambitious growth plan aligned with its strategic directions.
Reporting to the Sales Manager (Canada), the Account Executives are responsible for driving revenue growth across RCM’s core educational programs in Canada, U.S., and globally: the RCM Certificate Program, Smart Start (RCM’s early childhood music education offering), and RCM publications.
This role is accountable for managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing, and focuses on building lasting relationships with music educators, music retailers, school boards, early childhood education providers, and other institutional partners.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified leads for RCM’s key product offerings.
- Conduct prospecting, discovery calls, product demos, and close deals with music teachers, schools, education administrators, and early childhood education providers.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets across defined products. Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline data in Salesforce CRM.
Territory & Account Management
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies within assigned territories.
- Manage ongoing relationships with key accounts to ensure satisfaction, retention, and potential for upselling. Collaborate with internal operational teams to ensure seamless onboarding and implementation.
Market Engagement
- Represent RCM at conferences, education fairs, music teacher association events, and stakeholder meetings.
- Identify trends and gather feedback from partners to support ongoing product development and positioning. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, events teams to coordinate campaigns and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Product, Business Operations, and Digital Learning to align on product iteration and market needs. Provide input into quarterly planning, sales strategy, and go-to-market efforts.
Performing other duties as required.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Arts Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, selling to stakeholders in music education, early childhood education, music dealers, or sales experience in EdTech sector
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent relationship-building, product pitch and presentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a large territory. Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the music education and music teacher networks, and or
- Familiarity with music retail and distribution networks in North America, and or
- Familiarity with educational program sales in APAC markets and Latin America, selling programs or services to schools, early learning centres, government agencies, and or institutions.
- Multilingual skills relevant to target markets a plus (e.g., French, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Thai).
Additional Information
- As part of the Total Rewards package for this role, compensation will be a combination of performance-based pay and variable incentive pay such as bonuses or commissions.
- Occasional requirements to work outside of regular business hours.
- May sit for extended periods of time with exposure to computer screen.
- Up to 20% travel with locations dependent on assigned and/or regional focus.
- Travel within assigned region to meet with prospects and existing clients as approved and required.
