About The Students’ Association of Bow Valley College: The Students’ Association of Bow Valley College (SABVC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the effective representation of Bow Valley College students. We strive to empower our community through advocacy, engagement, transparency, and opportunity.

Position summary: The Manager, Student Experience is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of student services, events, mental health, food security programming, communications, student engagement initiatives, and campus experience activities on behalf of the Students' Association of Bow Valley College (SABVC).

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role leads the Student Experience team in delivering high-quality services, fostering student engagement, and enhancing awareness of SABVC programs and initiatives through effective communication and relationship building.

The Manager acts as a key advisor on student engagement trends, service delivery, student wellness, and campus life, while ensuring that SABVC programs, events, and services align with organizational goals and student needs.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Experience managing staff, programs, budgets, and stakeholder relationships is required. Experience in the post-secondary, nonprofit, or student association sector is considered an asset. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and project management skills are required.

What You’ll Do

Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of student services, events, wellness initiatives, communications, and engagement programs that enhance the overall student experience. Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to the Student Experience team, fostering a collaborative and student-centered workplace culture. Oversee key student support programs, including health and dental benefits administration, mental health initiatives, campus food security efforts, and other student-facing services. Develop and execute marketing, communications, and digital engagement strategies that increase awareness of SABVC programs, services, elections, and events. Manage departmental budgets, operational plans, technology resources, and service providers to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. Build strong relationships with students, Bow Valley College departments, community organizations, vendors, and external partners to advance student success and organizational goals. Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that expand opportunities, services, and resources available to Bow Valley College students. Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director on student experience trends, engagement strategies, service development, and emerging student needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides direct and indirect supervision and leadership to positions within the Student Experience department. This includes responsibility for work planning, performance management, professional development, and day-to-day operational oversight.

35 hours per week Located at Bow Valley College's Downtown Calgary Campus

Compensation & Benefits
