The Senior Security Advisor is a key member of the Corporate Security team, providing advanced expertise in investigations, risk management, executive protection, and intelligence-led security operations. This role leads complex internal investigations, oversees highrisk security operations, and supports enterprise security strategies that protect people, assets, and information.

Minimum Requirement:
- 15 years of progressive experience in law enforcement, legal, or risk management roles with expertise in complex investigations, executive protection and threat assessment
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in Criminology, Law, Risk Management, or related field
- Certification in the Canadian Incident Command System (ICS Levels 100 and 200)
- Professional designation of CPP (Certified Protection Professional), CRM (Certified Risk Manager), or PCI (Professional Certified Investigator)
- Formal training in criminal law, powers of arrest and detention authorities, use of force, and relevant federal statutes
- Physical capability to support executive protection and crisis response duties, including deployment in highstress environments
- Proven ability to lead high-stake investigations involving evidence collection, analysis, interviewing, and formal reporting
- Experience providing findings and sworn testimony court, arbitration, or administrative hearings
- Experience in travel risk management and the ability to prepare robust security and threat briefings for senior executives
- Strong knowledge of security risk management principles, investigative technologies and intelligence platforms, and understanding of technical countermeasures, espionage threats, and protective operations
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity disciplines and their integration with physical security and operational technology framework
- Eligibility for Top Secret Government of Canada clearance, and possession of a valid driver’s license and passport with flexibility for global travel
Key Accountabilities
- Lead complex internal investigations involving business conduct breaches, ethical violations, or security incidents
- Apply advanced investigative techniques including Open-Source Intelligence Investigation (OSINT), social media analytics, digital forensics, and financial intelligence
- Coordinate sensitive investigative strategies, including surveillance resources, confidential informant management, and applying PEACE model interviewing techniques
- Manage multiple high-priority investigations and apply strong project management principles to prepare detailed investigation reports and present findings in court, arbitration, or administrative proceedings in a fast-paced environment
- Deliver executive-level briefings, intelligence summaries, journey management guidance and travel risk assessments to senior leadership and personnel traveling to highrisk destinations
- Oversee executive protection operations and technical countermeasure inspections to mitigate threats
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and government stakeholders
- Support business continuity and crisis response activities aligned with Canadian ICS Level 100/200 principles
- Exemplary integrity, discretion, and professional conduct to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism while managing sensitive and privileged information
- Collaborate closely with Legal, HR, IT, Cyber Security, and Risk to ensure cohesive, compliant, and effective security responses
- Incorporate physical security, cyber security, and human rights frameworks—including the Voluntary Principles—into operational planning
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong conflict resolution and ability to make sound decision under pressure or ambiguous conditions
Location and other key details:
- You will work out our Calgary Head Office - located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.
- You will work Monday – Friday 40 hours as well as weekend based on team rotation requirements
- Overtime and work hour flexibility is required
- Valid driver’s license and passport, with flexibility to travel globally on short notice
