Job Description About Us Greenwood Ready-Mix operates three certified concrete plants just north of the GTA in Orangeville, Alliston, and Elora. Job Summary Build your career in the construction industry by stepping into a key operational role that keeps concrete production running safely and efficiently. As the Batcher/Dispatcher, you’ll be at the center of daily plant activity – supporting production workflows, coordinating with on‑site teams, and helping ensure reliable, high‑quality output for projects and customers. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, construction‑focused environment where strong teamwork, awareness, and operational discipline make a real impact on project delivery and plant performance.
Responsibilities

Operate a computerized batching system to accurately produce concrete mixes in accordance with specifications and quality standards

Manage all aspects of dispatch operations, including:

Customer service: Coordinate orders, respond to daily sales inquiries, and ensure timely delivery

Product quality: Monitor mix specifications and address issues to maintain consistency
-
Inventory control: Track raw material levels and coordinate replenishment as needed
-
Oversee production scheduling, planning, and reporting to support efficient daily operations
-
Support plant maintenance activities, including routine upkeep, assisting with basic repairs, and contributing to the safe and reliable operation of equipment

Assist with staff supervision, including coordinating driver schedules and providing operational support as needed
-
Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organized work environment, prioritizing safety, quality, and production efficiency

Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with general plant maintenance (including bending, lifting, working outdoors)
- Strong multitasking skills to support batching, dispatch coordination, scheduling, and general plant activities
- Ability to stay focused and perform well under pressure in a fast‑paced, continuously changing, deadline‑driven environment
- Proficient with computers and comfortable learning new software for batching and dispatching purposes
- Willing and able to work with changing schedules, including occasional irregular hours based on production demands
- Knowledge of concrete or the construction industry is an asset but not required – training will be provided
- Comfortable working as part of a team to support coworkers, including drivers and plant staff
Pay: $24.75 to $34.75 per hour
