About the role
As a 3D Animator on Dead by Daylight, you’ll specialize in character animation, helping bring our iconic Survivors and Killers to life through high‑quality motion capture and polished in‑game performances. Working closely with animators, designers, and technical teams, you’ll translate mocap data into expressive, believable character movement that supports gameplay and storytelling.
In this role you will :
- Effectively apply the principles of animation to create a high-quality character.
- Understand game design intentions and create in conjunction with the art team the required animation lists for characters.
- Integrate your animation in Unreal engine.
- Have the ownership of the characters and ensure the overall quality of the product.
- Help define, structure, and evolve animation workflows and pipelines, ensuring best practices are shared and consistently applied across the team.
- Act as a mentor and right‑hand support to the lead, fostering collaboration, guiding team members, and helping align the team around shared goals and processes.
What we are looking for :
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in animation within the gaming industry.
- Strong experience with game engines and DCC tools such as Unreal, Unity, Inhouse engine, Autodesk Maya, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of animation tools, with a basic knowledge of rigging concepts and video game production pipelines.
- Strong observation skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage tasks and projects effectively.
- Contribute to mentoring the team by sharing documentation, best practices, and a solution‑oriented mindset.
- Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a strong client/player‑focused approach.
Dans ce rôle, vous devrez :
- Appliquer efficacement les principes de l’animation afin de créer des personnages de grande qualité;
- Comprendre les intentions de design et, en collaboration avec l’équipe artistique, établir les listes d’animations nécessaires pour les personnages;
- Intégrer vos animations dans le moteur Unreal;
- Prendre en charge les personnages et garantir la qualité globale du produit;
- Contribuer à la définition, à la structuration et à l’évolution des workflows et pipelines d’animation, en veillant au partage et à l’application cohérente des meilleures pratiques au sein de l’équipe;
- Agir comme mentor et bras droit du ou de la lead, en favorisant la collaboration, en guidant les membres de l’équipe et en aidant à aligner les processus et objectifs communs.
Ce que nous recherchons :
- Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience professionnelle en animation dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo;
- Solide expérience avec les moteurs de jeu et outils DCC tels qu’Unreal, Unity, moteur maison, Autodesk Maya ou équivalent;
- Bonne compréhension des outils d’animation, avec des bases en concepts de rigging et en pipelines de production de jeux vidéo;
- Excellentes capacités d’observation, adaptabilité et aptitude à gérer efficacement des tâches et des projets;
- Contribution au mentorat de l’équipe par le partage de documentation, de bonnes pratiques et une approche axée sur les solutions
- Esprit collaboratif et orienté travail d’équipe, avec une forte sensibilité joueur·euse
En tant que3D Animateur·rice sur Dead by Daylight, vous vous spécialiserez en animation de personnages et contribuerez à donner vie à nos Survivants et Tueurs emblématiques grâce à des animations issues de la capture de mouvements de haute qualité et à des performances soignées en jeu. En collaboration étroite avec les animateur·rice·s, les designers et les équipes techniques, vous transformerez des données de mocap en mouvements expressifs et crédibles, au service du gameplay et de la narration.
