Join JLL's Corporate Real Estate team as a Senior Space Planning Manager in Fort McMurray. This role combines strategic occupancy planning with project management support to optimize space utilization across office and operational areas. You will manage client relationships, analyze real estate portfolios, and support move management activities while serving as the primary point of contact for space data management systems.
Please note that our client requires that all workers/staff operating at their Sites are required to undergo drug testing (including pre-employment, reasonable cause, random and post-incident) to gain and continue to have access to their Sites and equipment. What You Will Do:
Space Data Management
Serve as single point of contact for CAFM/IWMS database and drawing support
Lead recurring site data validation and space audits to ensure current seat assignments and floor plans
Maintain drawing compliance with data standards and interpret portfolio changes
Support allocation cycles and related reporting as Subject Matter Expert
Planning and Implementation
Manage space allocation per approved master facilities plans for relocations and moves
Collect population data for strategic facilities planning and ensure planning supports growth requirements
Track and report occupancy by department for cost allocation purposes
Develop occupancy strategies with leadership and planning teams
Validate finance-approved headcount projections for 1-3 year planning horizon
Space Management and Analysis
Maintain facilities drawings on CAD system using agreed file formats and standards
Update record drawings timely as spaces are remodeled
Conduct site audit data reviews with local Facilities Management for validation
Report current and forecasted supply/capacity for three-year rolling timeframe
Move/Project Management
Review project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices
Manage project scope, budget, and change orders with clients
Conduct regular meetings with vendors and stakeholders on schedules
Identify and address project liabilities and risks
Oversee vendor procurement and supplier management
Manage work orders, furniture reconfigurations, and space enhancements
Client Communication and Management
Understand and manage client expectations with positive interaction
Provide diplomatic, constructive and productive feedback
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in project execution
Collaborate with occupancy planning teams, project managers, and facilities management
What You Will Bring: 6-10 years of occupancy planning, facility, project or construction related experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment
Minimum 2 years as an Occupancy Planning Manager, Senior Relocation Project Manager, or related experience
Experience managing 1000+ employee relocations
CAD/CAFM proficiency with move management module and/or CAFM systems
Advanced Excel and MS Project skills
Knowledge of architectural drawings and space planning concepts
Experience managing move project budgets, schedules, and change orders
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with executive-level client interaction
Detail-oriented with flexibility for travel and varied hours
Ability to multitask independently and in teams
Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems
Background in occupancy planning, project management, construction management, architecture or project strategy planning preferred
Physical RequirementsWork flexible hours
Lift up to 50 lbs
Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crawl
Work in various weather conditions as needed
Drive to client sites within region as needed
