The Blueprint
The Customer Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting all customer and/or external communications and implementing key projects in support of the Corporate and Customer Communications team and their priorities. This role also supports internal communications and provides expertise on projects and key initiatives across the organization.
A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities
- Copywrite, design, edit, and review all external/customer and internal communications, including communications, announcements, and presentations, ensuring high-quality content, consistency, and alignment in tone and voice across all communications (letter, print, digital).
- Coordinate the homeowner letter calendar process (i.e., Tarion-mandated letters), including defining communications requirements, from Sales through to Warranty, and ensuring that communications are on-time and brand consistent.
- Create and/or review email communications to homeowners, as well as additional homeowner resources, such as customer brochures, pamphlets, flyers, etc., and email versions of customer correspondence.
- Implement key tactics, deliverables, supporting documents and materials of strategic communication plans.
- Write and edit communications copy for various platforms.
- Support the execution of communication plans as well as developing content and design of materials for the teams (e.g., Partners in Community, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, ESG, Community Ambassador, etc.)
- Support communication needs, communication planning, and copy for all teams.
- Identify opportunities for improving the brand experience and community engagement.
- Provide project support on various initiatives and partnerships (e.g., community relations, revitalization communities.
- Assist with key projects in collaboration with other departments with their communications needs, which foster brand loyalty and brand consistency (e.g., project communications re: community relations to various stakeholders, Deltera signage and hoarding, web content, presentations, and other marketing/brand materials).
- Review Building Branding with the Project Management team for all active communities to ensure all building signage is designed and complete within defined brand standards.
- Support communication needs for various projects across the organization (e.g., RFPs, award submissions, ESG Report, Crisis Management, etc.).
- Work with different departments (e.g., Marketing, Innovation) to generate new communication ideas for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
- Contribute to the organization and facilitation of corporate and community events (e.g., Annual Update Event, Recognition Night, Homeowner Workshops).
The Architect of Your Success
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, business administration or a related area of study.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications; prior experience in the real estate development industry preferred or an understanding of real estate development processes.
- Ability to plan, strategize, prioritize, manage, and execute projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to excel and respond appropriately in pressure situations.
- Ability to problem solve and make relevant decisions, optimizing business performance.
