We are looking for an Analyst, Risk Advisory Services - Risk Analytics Alternative Risk Financing to join our team in our Montreal office!
As an Analyst – Risk Analytics & Alternative Risk Financing, you will play a critical support role in the delivery of consulting engagements that help organizations better understand, quantify, and finance their risks. You will contribute to the development of data-driven insights, risk quantification models, and financing structures—including captive insurance feasibility and optimization.
Working under the guidance of experienced advisors, you will support project scoping, data analysis, stakeholder input synthesis, model development, and the creation of client-ready deliverables across a range of industries.
Your Day as an Analyst – Risk Analytics & Alternative Risk Financing
Risk Analytics

Collect, validate, and structure client risk and loss data to support modeling and analysis.

Develop and maintain deterministic and stochastic models (e.g., loss modeling, scenario analysis, risk quantification) to estimate risk exposure and potential financial impact.

Contribute to the design and testing of tools that assess risk appetite, retention optimization, and cost of risk strategies.

Assist with the development of customized visualizations and insights for client presentations, leveraging Excel, Python, or data visualization platforms.
Alternative Risk Financing
-
Support the development of feasibility studies and financial models related to alternative risk financing mechanisms such as captives and large deductible programs.

Analyze insurance program structures and cost allocations to identify inefficiencies and potential arbitrage opportunities.

Assist in drafting technical deliverables and recommendations related to program design, retention structures, capital requirements, and expected captive performance.
Project Delivery & Client Engagement

Work collaboratively with senior team members to deliver engagements on time and within scope.

Assist in defining project requirements and deliverables during the planning phase.

Participate in internal working sessions and client meetings by preparing materials, documenting insights, and capturing follow-up actions.

Contribute to proposal development, including drafting scope sections, estimating effort, and conducting background research.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Help improve the team’s risk modeling capabilities by contributing to internal tools and automation efforts using Python or similar tools.

Stay informed of industry developments in risk financing, insurance, and data analytics to inform project delivery.
Our Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, Risk Management, Engineering, Business Analytics).

Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint;

Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English as the candidate will be required to interact in English with stakeholders (colleagues and clients) outside Quebec;

Strong analytical and research skills, as well as initiative and curiosity;

Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details;

Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment;

Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
