Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe DevOps & SCM Migration Consultant with deep expertise in IBM z/OS, DBB, Git, Wazi, and Software Change Management (SCM) to support enterprise modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead migration projects from legacy SCM platforms such as CA Endevor to IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB), Git, IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz/IDD), and Wazi. This is a customer-facing consulting role requiring strong technical leadership, hands-on implementation experience, and the ability to guide organizations through modern DevOps transformation on the IBM Mainframe platform.

Key Responsibilities

Lead enterprise Software Change Management (SCM) migration projects from CA Endevor and other legacy SCM tools to IBM DBB, Git, IDD, and Wazi. Design and implement modern Mainframe DevOps solutions using Git-based source control and IBM DBB. Define migration strategies, architecture, and best practices for transitioning legacy applications to modern development workflows. Assess existing SCM environments and develop migration roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Install, configure, and support IBM DBB, Git, IDD, and Wazi solutions on IBM z/OS environments. Analyze, convert, validate, and troubleshoot Endevor-managed applications throughout the migration lifecycle. Build and support CI/CD pipelines for IBM Mainframe applications. Debug build failures, deployment issues, and pipeline execution problems. Provide technical consulting, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for DBB/Git/IDD/Wazi environments. Deliver customer training sessions, technical workshops, and knowledge transfer programs. Develop technical documentation, migration guides, and best practice recommendations. Collaborate with IBM technical teams, project stakeholders, and customer engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience as a Systems Programmer, Mainframe Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Application Developer. Strong expertise with IBM z/OS and Unix System Services (USS). Hands-on experience migrating from CA Endevor or other legacy SCM tools.

Deep knowledge of

IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB) Git IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz/IDD) IBM Wazi Strong understanding of Mainframe DevOps and Software Change Management practices. Experience designing and supporting Git-based development workflows. Expertise troubleshooting build failures, deployment issues, and SCM migration challenges. Strong knowledge of Git repositories, branching strategies, merge workflows, and source code management. Experience debugging CI/CD pipelines and automated build processes. Excellent customer-facing consulting, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to independently lead migration projects and mentor customer teams.

Education
