Posting Period : February 05, 2026 - February 11, 2026 Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Occupational Therapist for the Complex
Seating Clinic provides assessment of assigned clients and develops a treatment plan to support the
client’s seating needs. The Occupational Therapist is accountable for maintaining the Standards of
Practice and Ethics of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. The Occupational
Therapist will provide clinical education and experience for allied health students and will participate
in formal teaching and research in conjunction with Queen’s University. As a member of the clinical
team, the Occupational Therapist will participate in discipline-specific and inter-professional activities
that are directed towards a client-centered environment and that contribute to quality, operational
efficiency, professional and program development.
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Graduate of a recognized school of Occupational Therapy
- Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizer required.
- Experience in specified area of practice preferred
- Experience in instructing students an asset
Role Responsibilities
- Utilizes evidence-based practice and best practice
- Utilizes outcome measures to guide clinical decision making
- Reviews medical referrals
- Assesses level of function and the needs of clients in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure
- Establishes treatment goals in collaboration with the client
- Identifies and implements treatment to achieve client goals
- Ensures informed and knowledgeable consent is obtained for assessment, treatment, and disclosure or release of information
- Follows collaborative care plans as appropriate
- Evaluates and modifies treatment to meet client needs
- Assigns appropriate client care to support staff, monitors and supervises client treatment and progress
