Rural Family Service Social Worker, Carberry, Glenboro and surrounding Manitoba area Full-time position - Posting Close Date: Thursday, July 9, 2026 at midnight
Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba is accepting applications for a full-time term Rural Family Service Social Worker position, which will primarily cover the areas surrounding Carberry, Treesbank, Margaret, Dunrea, Ninette, Pelican Lake, Greenway, Baldur and Glenboro Manitoba; however, the successful applicant may be required to cover other rural areas at times dependent on rural caseload coverage and intake needs. This term position will conclude mid-October 2027. This term position may expire sooner than October 2027, subject to a minimum two-week notice period. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of services, including the provision of intake assessment services, ongoing family services and, where appropriate, services to children in the Agency’s care. The Agency provides a vehicle, laptop and cell phone for work use.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Social Work, Masters of Social Work, or eligible to become a Registered Social Worker through the Manitoba College of Social Workers; Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act, CFSIS, and Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba’s family strengthening programs; Effective assessment, interviewing, relationship building, problem solving, organizational, and advocacy skills; Knowledge of child development, separation and attachment issues, parenting methods and trauma informed practices; Excellent oral and written communication skills; The ability to work in a team environment; Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License; Please refer to section below for additional requirements.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Records Check (including vulnerable sector), Prior Contact Check, and a Driver’s Abstract Check is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for any services charges incurred for the Criminal Record Check; the Agency will pay for the other three security checks. Please include three references with your application. Two must be employment-related, one being your current or most recent supervisor. The third can be a personal or character reference. The Agency will not contact your references in advance of an interview. All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
