Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Actively participate in company safety programs;
- Conduct informal and formal inspections with coaching for improvement;
- Conduct and encourage participation in all safety meetings;
- Inform and receive information from and to crew and technical services about production/development and maintenance priorities;
- Plan and organize all development and production on the given shift;
- Assist the crew in planning the work for the oncoming shift;
- Provide technical support and expertise to mine and project planning;
- Lead by example, provide guidance, coach, and motivate crews to work safely and productively;
- Maintain inventory and provide on-the-job input and constructive feedback regarding team-member performance, including positive reinforcement and recognition as well as correcting negative behavior in a constructive manner;
- Ensure acceptable productivity levels in tonnes, long hole blasting, and development in order to meet weekly mining schedules;
- Process departmental documentation in a timely manner, such as completing timesheets and tracking vacation and banked time;
- Administer policies found in the Employee Handbook, such as absenteeism and discipline policies;
- Initiate work orders;
- Awareness and consistency with the Agnico Eagle Mining Classification Guideline;
- Recommend input to annual budget setting and anticipate costs in accordance with annual production/development on a monthly basis;
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience;
- Minimum of 5 years of related underground experience;
- Knowledge of the Ontario Mining Act and Regulations;
- Supervisors Common Core (within 12 months of job role);
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

- Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Upper Beaver Gold project site in Dobie, ON.
