About the role

Transdev Canada is hiring a Parts Clerk for our Abbotsford, BC location.

As a Parts Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an organized and efficient stock room for BC Transit and Transdev. You will collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure accurate work orders and warranty management, while also maintaining safety standards and compliance. This is a full-time position.

Your role:

  • Organize and maintain BC Transit and Transdev parts, ensuring proper separation and cleanliness.
  • Order Order and monitor inventory levels for Abbotsford and Chilliwack, perform cycle counts, and manage discrepancies in collaboration with maintenance supervisors and managers.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, handle vendor communications regarding back orders and stagnant requisitions.
  • Perform shipping and receiving functions, ensuring safe loading/unloading and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with work orders and liaise with maintenance staff for accuracy in parts and labor charges.
  • Tag and manage warranty returns, ensuring all claims are accurately processed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain relevant certifications for material handling and forklift operation.
  • Pick up and/or deliver parts to Chilliwack location and local vendors as needed.
  • Assists as required for other duties as assigned.

Your profile:

  • Safety focused and with strong attention to detail.
  • Two or more years of parts room experience, relevant certification preferred.
  • Valid Forklift Operator certification.
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Able to lift 50lbs without assistance.
  • Able reach and lift items overhead with both arms.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver licence.
  • Proactive problem recognition, action, and resolution methods.
  • Assertively ensure maintenance staff are respecting inventory control standards
  • Strong computer skills, experience with inventory management software
  • Self-motivated to complete tasks and regularly review active orders.
  • Maintain work-place professionalism and etiquette with internal and external customers.

Your location:

  • This is a unionized position
  • There may be a requirement to cover shifts at our location in Chilliwack
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:30pm.
