About the role
Across Canada, VetStrategy is a network of veterinary practices united by a shared purpose: healthy animals, happy owners.
We Bring This To Life Through Three Promises
- Our People Promise – To be a great place to work.
- Our Customer Promise – To deliver world-class veterinary care, locally.
- Our Sustainability Promise – To be a force for good.
Guided by our values— We Care, We Dare, We Share —we prioritize well-being, embrace challenges, and foster collaboration. Rooted in passion and compassion, we support our people, patients, their families, and our communities. Humble and approachable, we achieve more together.
Watzin Veterinary Clinic , a Small Animal practice in Waterdown, Ontario (located just north of Burlington and Hamilton) is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian. This is your chance to be part of a growing team of dedicated, progressive, client-focused individuals where we foster a collaborative and “family oriented” relationship with members of our team, clients, and patients.
At Watzin Veterinary Clinic, we love taking care of your loyal companions. For more than three decades we’ve been a full-service small animal clinic serving Hamilton and surrounding areas. Our clinic is fully staffed and equipped with all the latest equipment including CO2 laser, digital x-rays, digital dental radiography, dedicated dental suite and rehabilitation area.
We are Fear Free Certified! The Fear Free initiative is led by our trained Veterinarians and implemented by our entire team who are also Fear Free Certified. Fear Free starts with recognizing pet behavior before, during and after their veterinary visit. We understand that the clinic can be a scary place for some patients and during their visit our team will identify a pet’s FAS score, including triggers of FAS. We offer segregated canine and feline sections in our reception area to keep pets comfortable and reduce their interaction.
Our Culture At Watzin Veterinary Clinic, we prioritize the growth and well-being of our team members. We believe in fostering a supportive culture through mentoring, coaching, and open discussion. With a team of professionals, you will never feel unsupported, and there are ample opportunities to learn, practice, and perfect your skills.
Giving Back to the Community Watzin Veterinary Clinic proudly supports the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA and continues to help pets in need. We are now a drop-off location for donations to the HBSPCA.
Our community Step into Waterdown, a dynamic and family-friendly community in the City of Hamilton, Ontario. Waterdown perfectly combines the warmth of small-town living with the perks of city amenities, making it an ideal place for those who want the best of both worlds. Situated atop the Niagara escarpment and surrounded by rural land to the north, Waterdown Village is a central hub for nearby hiking trails.

About VetStrategy
Being part of VetStrategy is about being part of something bigger – an ever-growing community, where we connect person-to-person and skill-to-need, united by a common purpose of healthy animals, happy owners. From our humble beginning in 2006 to the present day, we continue to make a difference in the lives of people who have dedicated themselves to this industry.
When VetStrategy co-founders Orin Litman and his wife, Dr. Michelle Cutler, decided to acquire McLean Animal Hospital in 2006, they focused on three promises – our Customer Promise of world-class veterinary care, delivered locally; our People Promise, to be a great place to work; and our Sustainability Promise to be a force for good for patients, people and our plant.
Keeping our three promises led VetStrategy to become the leading veterinary network in Canada, with veterinary practices, 24-hour emergency care, and specialty hospitals coast-to-coast. We have developed and refined a model for supporting our practices across the country.
What we do:
We care for those dedicated to caring for animals by creating a workplace where we focus on innovation, engagement, and teamwork.
We know the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into building each practice, and we don’t want to touch that – we truly embrace the uniqueness of each clinic. Our heritage first approach means we won’t change a clinic’s name, culture or heritage.
We understand the challenges our veterinary teams face and are committed to doing what’s right – for them, their clients, and their patients.
We care about the future of veterinary medicine. Everything we do comes back to ensuring that veterinarians have the time, support, and infrastructure to focus on responsible medicine and quality care.
We believe in empowering our support office and clinic staff and providing them opportunities to develop their skills and grow in their careers.
