The Nelson Police Department is currently seeking experienced police officers to join our team. We are looking for professional, community focused individuals who share our core values of integrity, respect, and service. Minimum Qualifications (Experienced Officer Entry):
Applicants must:
- Be currently serving as a police officer in Canada;
- Have at least two years of service with a Canadian police agency after graduating from an accredited police training program;
- Meet all British Columbia Provincial Policing Standards, including medical, psychological, and background checks.
Note: Years of service with other Canadian police departments are recognized under the Nelson Police Association Collective Agreement.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $122,897 annually (as of July 1, 2025, 1st Class Constable)
Overtime is available and compensated per the Nelson Police Association collective agreement.
