About the role

Pharmascience is currently looking for a Global Logistic Specialist. The Global Transportation Specialist ensures the execution of National and International shipping by coordinating flow of information and goods between Pharmascience’s clients, suppliers and subcontractors, carriers as well as the various regulatory and government agencies. Works in collaboration with the Director of Transportation in order to maintain operational and analytical data integrity and provide performance indicators as required by the business. Has solid understanding of our transportation landscape and seeks to analyze the drivers of cost and performance within our client network. Participates in the development and support of PMS’s Transportation Management System and Carrier Performance Management.

Tasks And Responsabilities

  • Operations Support:

  • Work with the freight forwarders and assign/assess daily movements of shipments

  • Daily communication with the buyers/planners group to ensure required documents for upcoming shipment are provided in a timely manner.

  • Follow up shipping process with vendors to ensure required shipping timelines are met in working with the buyers/planners group.

  • Assisting the group in determining best shipping routings to meet required timelines at PMS.

  • Financial:

  • Assist in Annual Budget Calculations and Follow-Ups

  • Continuous Improvement projects and Investigations

  • Act as a SME in Continuous Improvement Projects

  • Invoice Audit and Codification

  • Support Month-End reporting

  • Systems:

  • Transportation Management System Technical and Business Owner

  • Creation of Dashboards and Business Intelligence (using Tableau, SAP, MS, and Power BI)

  • KPIs and Performance Management:

  • Cost per lane, KG, Region and other costing metrics

  • Carrier performance management

  • Develop KPIs and other metrics as require by the business

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite
  • Developed analytical capacity
  • Basic knowledge of SAP
  • Good knowledge of World Geography, Ocean/Sea, Air and Trucking freight
  • Easily interacts with people and good communicator of ideas
  • Good aptitude for teamwork
  • Skills for planning and organizing work
  • Knowledge of the cold chain in logistics
  • Knowledge of French and English (spoken and written) The Specialist will have to collaborate with suppliers outside the Province of Quebec.
  • knowledge and/or experience in International Logistics (in the pharmaceutical industry an asset)
