BioSyent Pharma is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Mississauga. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow professionally.

About the Role:

As the Senior Accountant, below are some of what you will do:

  • Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Review and approve inventory-related entries posted to the General Ledger
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances
  • Prepare, review, and publish accurate and timely management reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
  • Mentor and review work completed by accounting staff
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Maintain month-end closing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Provide backup support to team members as needed
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, marketing, and other departments

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA certification will also be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of hands-on general ledger experience
  • Strong experience in financial and/or management reporting
  • Exposure to month-end closing processes
  • Knowledge of HST accounting and HST returns
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and Canadian tax regulations
  • Advanced Excel and strong systems skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Assets:

  • Experience with Sage/ACCPAC

How We Hire & Compensation

Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, background, and qualifications. The compensation range for this role is $70,000 – $85,000. The role is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as participation in the Bonus Program.
