Administrator, Contracts
About the role
The Contract Administrator serves as the primary point of contact during the bid stage, responsible for reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Requests for Tender (RFT) from potential clients. This role includes analyzing and interpreting contract terms, assessing the risks, and redlining agreements to identify and mitigate potential commercial and legal exposures. The Contract Administrator provides clear, concise, and commercially focused recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Reviewing Client bid documents for quoting Fixed Price, Time and Material, Target, Cost Reimbursable and Lump Sum/Turnkey contracts and advising on the suitability of each based on the quality of bid information received

Prepare documents for Fixed Price, Time and Material, Target, Cost Reimbursable and Lump Sum/Turnkey contracts.

Perform comprehensive commercial and contractual risk reviews at both bid and post-award stages, identifying exposures and recommending mitigation strategies.

Draft proposed contractual language and special conditions to address identified risks, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices.

Review professional services agreements and/or compile professional services contracts

Review and compile non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements

Review internal supply chain for compliance with Redpath policies

Review and Compile subcontract agreements for compliance with primary agreements

Provide contractual guidance and support to the operations group managers

Create contract crib sheets for area managers, project controllers and project accounting personnel

Assist Manager, Contracts in negotiation at the post-tender stage

Create/maintain contract templates for each form on contract.

Communicating with clients through formal emails, letters and meetings.

Draft, review, and maintain correspondence for formal communications with clients.

Support cross-functional teams to ensure contract terms are clearly understood and consistently applied.

Assist with contract related document controls including the maintenance of various contract registers relating to correspondence, drawings, changes, issues, decisions, insurances, etc.

Maintain training modules and participate in classroom presentations
Education:
Required: Post-secondary education in Business, Legal or mining (with progressive experience)
Preferred: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Legal, Business or equivalent
Work Experience:
Required: 3 years in contract administration
Preferred: 5-10 years in contract administration with experience in mining or construction and project management
