The challenges that await you
Under the authority of the main manager – Planning, Development and Support, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and controlling the execution of activities related to the development of new solutions as well as the realization of projects related to the evolution and proper functioning of library services.
To this end, you identify and analyze the emerging needs of users and develop innovative services and features. You act as a resource person for renovation, expansion, and construction projects of libraries and ensure continuity between them.
You are also responsible for supporting the hiring, onboarding, and training of staff, as well as the development of systems and technologies, data analysis, and statistics.
You plan, supervise, and control the activities under your responsibility, recommend and implement measures to optimize the performance of the various activities of your team. Additionally, you participate in various committees to plan operations in your area of activities.
As a member of the Service management team, you collaborate for its smooth operation and contribute to achieving its objectives. You participate in assessing the needs for human, material, and financial resources required for the smooth running of the activities for which you are responsible and contribute to budget management. You submit detailed reports and may be called upon to make presentations regarding the activities for which you are responsible.
You guide, direct, and supervise the members of your team in the execution of their respective mandates, determine priorities, define objectives, and communicate your expectations. You evaluate performance, recognize achievement, and promote staff development by recommending their training.
The ideal profile for us
- Hold a master's degree in information science or any other relevant degree;
- Have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in management;
- Excellent command of spoken and written French;
- Autonomy, proven interpersonal skills, and organizational sense;
- Great versatility and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
- Ability to lead a team.
