###Job Description

The Finance Operations Cooridnator is responsible for supporting and organizing the administrative processes supporting the key functions of Finance team. This includes documenting processes, organizing data, reviewing invoices and process payments as well as working directly with other departments to ensure key inputs and outputs are communicated in an effective and efficient manner for Magna Mining’s Sudbury Operations.

All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the finance team to build and document processes and procedures

  • Support and organize gap analysis of current processes to streamline for future improvements

  • Organize files, develop and establish folder structures, data repositories and archive historical data.

  • Organize and support the development of best practices for financial transactions and reporting

  • Organize reporting data, create presentations and info graphs

  • Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices for goods and services.

  • Match invoices with purchase orders, delivery notes, and receipts.

  • Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.

  • Prepare and process payment runs (EFT, wire transfers, checks).

  • Ensure timely payment of invoices in accordance with company policy and vendor terms.

  • Reconcile payment batches and resolve any discrepancies.

###Requirements

Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Work Experience: Nature & Length

  • 4 or more year of accounts payable experience in mining or other heavy industry.

Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and proficient with Microsoft products including Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Accuracy and timeliness in processing.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
