About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Mount Milligan Mine team.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing capital, infrastructure, and sustaining projects at the Mount Milligan Mine site.

This role manages project activities from initiation through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with operational requirements and company objectives. The Project Manager works closely with operations, maintenance, technical services, contractors, and external stakeholders to successfully implement projects that support operational reliability, efficiency, and long-term mine performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Manage assigned capital and sustaining projects through all phases of the project lifecycle. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies. Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, cost, quality, and resource challenges. Ensure project deliverables meet operational requirements and business objectives. Support project closeout activities, including documentation, lessons learned, and performance reviews.

Safety & Compliance

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all project activities. Ensure work is conducted in compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Participate in hazard assessments, risk management activities, and incident investigations as required. Support environmental compliance and stewardship throughout project execution.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, technical services, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure successful project implementation. Coordinate project activities with internal customers to minimize operational disruptions. Provide regular project status updates, progress reporting, and risk assessments to management. Build and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, consultants, vendors, regulatory agencies, and Indigenous communities as required.

Financial & Contract Management

Track project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and budget performance. Support procurement activities, contractor selection, tender evaluations, and contract administration. Review contractor performance and monitor compliance with contractual obligations. Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, manage costs, and optimize resource utilization.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the development and improvement of project management standards, processes, and governance practices. Participate in project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Support innovation and operational excellence initiatives that improve site performance and project delivery outcomes. Mentor junior project personnel and provide technical guidance when required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. PMP certification or equivalent project management designation is considered an asset. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset. 5–8 years of project management experience within mining, processing, heavy industrial, construction, or resource sectors. Demonstrated experience managing capital and sustaining projects in active operating environments. Experience with project controls, scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, and risk management. Experience with mine infrastructure, processing facilities, mobile equipment, or operational improvement projects is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong financial and business acumen. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools, and reporting systems. Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 7 day on, 7 day off rotation, or 4 day on, 3 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation. Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts. PPE always required. Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
