Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Inspector – Municipal Infrastructure, specializing in underground utilities for municipal infrastructure projects in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This is a full-time position focused on watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems. The successful candidate will be based out of our offices in Markham, ON or Mississauga, ON and will be assigned to projects located primarily within the GTA.

Responsibilities
The Inspector's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Act as the on-site liaison with contractors, clients, and approving authorities, addressing resident concerns as they arise. Collaborate closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to ensure construction activities comply with project specifications. Prepare and maintain daily work logs, project documentation, and reporting. Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with contractors and clients. Provide clarification of drawings and directions to contractors, with remote support from the Project Engineer. Monitor compliance with quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements through inspection duties. Conduct surveys and measurements for quantity calculations. Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings. Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning processes. Assist in the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate. Train entry-level employees in relevant procedures and practices. Adhere to AECOM Safety Policies and promote a culture of safety by example.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: 4+ years of relevant experience in a field role on municipal infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of surveying experience. 8+ years of experience with civil, water, and wastewater construction projects, specifically in watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems. Familiarity with sewage collection systems, road reconstructions, and land development. Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of construction methods (open cut, vertical trenching, and trenchless technologies, etc.). Familiarity with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset.
