What You'll Bring
- Must hold an adjuster's license in Ontario and able to obtain further license within Canada.
- 5+ years of experience as a claims adjuster with an insurance carrier or TPA, professional liability is preferred required, cyber experience a plus.
- Must have hold a bachelor's degree or insurance designation.
- Ability to learn and understand insurance concepts relating to Cyber Insurance Claims
- Ability to grow into a role that will be able to represent claims during sales and marketing meetings.
- Able to learn and grasp insurance concepts as well as cyber related claim scenarios required.
- Excellent writing and communication skills are required, ability to review policy and draft detailed Reservation of Rights and Denials.
- Must be able to obtain continuing education credits.
- French speaking and writing (preferred but not required).
Impact You'll Make The Cyber Claims Examiner will handle cyber related claims for client carriers within Canada and United States. The examiner will be the main claims liaison between multiple insurers and the Claims Manager in United States as well as other intercompany stakeholders. This examiner will provide exceptional customer experience to both client carriers and policyholders as a cyber claim’s expert. This adjuster will further review personal lines claims originating in Galway and proving any substantive direction including coverage and payment recommendations. Although Cyber experience is preferred, we will be willing to train the correct candidate.
Key Deliverables Of This Role Are
- Provide expertise to our clients with guidance on strategy and vendor management in the case of a breach which requires outside resources.
- Handle all aspects of cyber claims within the United States, Canada and other countries as required.
- Assess coverage, issue timely coverage letters and provide an explanation on certain elements of the claim which may and may not be covered.
- Be the key contact between assigned insurance carriers and Cyber Scout Claims.
- Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders, client carriers and internal team members.
Duties And Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Claims Administration
- Collaborate with claims manager and breach team to identify and document handling strategy within the scope of insurance coverages.
- Able to work with a claims software system that tracks claims diary, notes and reserves.
- Identify coverage issues and draft appropriate letters to policyholder Process claims in accordance to Best Practices Claims Guidelines with guidance from claims manager.
- Identify cost saving strategies when hiring outside vendors/experts/defense firms.
- Complete training in field of cyber claims and maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices. Obtain required provincial licenses and maintain required Continuing Education.
- Act as a liaison between the Cyber Claims department and Cyber Scout Breach team and Cyber Scout Solutions.
Department Support
- Review and approve all vendor billing.
- Run monthly bordereau reports that capture required data by reinsurance partners.
- Track monthly billing and receivables working with internal accounting department.
Working Environment This will be a remote position based in Ontario. Due to the type of claims, there may be instances where an after-hours is required to assist insured during critical times.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday. Work hours on each day may vary but once set, must be adhered to.
There are no direct reports to this position.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
