About the role

Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a contractual full-time 40 hours/week, Program Assistant position located in our Edmonton region. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community!

This position is a contract until March 31, 2026.

Job Summary:
As a Program Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of programs within the Immigration and Settlement Service (ISS). This may include, but is not limited to, liaising with key community stakeholders, making internal or external referrals where applicable, engaging in program promotional activities, keeping accurate and up-to-date records, assisting with report writing, and performing administrative duties as assigned - filing, scanning, uploading documents, database entry, etc.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Office Administration (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and various programs, including Microsoft Office suite, Videoconferencing Software Platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.), and databases
  • 2 years of experience in administrative office work
  • Experience in working with extensive data
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
  • Experience working with newcomers to Canada is an asset

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity towards those with diverse needs
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong public speaking, facilitation, and research skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with strong problem-solving skills
  • Confidence in taking initiative, multitasking, establishing priorities, and working independently with limited supervision
  • Strong team player
  • The ability to speak a second language is an asset
