The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Government/Indigenous Relations & Environment department as a Naturalization Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, Environment, this position is responsible for the successful implementation of the naturalization program, including working with community groups, schools, and internal City staff to facilitate annual native tree and shrub planting events throughout the city’s green spaces.
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology or other related field or a Diploma in GIS and/or Biological Sciences combined with 2 years related experience.
- GIS experience is required.
- Microsoft Office Suite, and ESRI GIS software experience is required.
- Knowledge or experience with website administration systems and photo editing software is an asset.
Hours of Work
- This position works a variable schedule of up to 40 hours per week.
- Full-time hours (40 hours per week) are expected during peak naturalization periods from March to June and September to October. Hours during the remainder of the year will vary based on program requirements.
Compensation
- The wage ranges from $32.12 - $38.37 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
- Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.
