Salary
Classification 11, $28.62 - $29.50/hour, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay, for all regular hours worked.
Description
Northern Lights College (NLC) is seeking a skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to create and edit content that aligns with brand and editorial guidelines. The ideal candidate will have experience with photography to complement written materials and possess strong interpersonal skills for collaboration within a dynamic, highly responsive team.
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist plans, creates, and implements communications for internal and external audiences using traditional and emerging platforms. Working closely with subject matter experts and senior leaders, this position creates messaging that is timely, relevant, and transparent for internal and external audiences. With a focus on corporate communication channels, this position oversees the vision, content, maintenance, improvements, and support of the college's public-facing websites and intranet.

Key Duties Include
Following brand guidelines to research, write, proofread, and edit compelling content for digital and print formats. Producing materials such as signage, presentations, brochures, newsletters, viewbooks, student handbooks, press releases, employee communications, reports, advertisements, and web content. Supporting strategic priorities and operational goals through effective communication.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of two years experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to write for various audiences, settings, and tones and across multiple platforms. A keen eye for detail, grammar, and consistency. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as WordPress or other content management systems, MailChimp or other email marketing platforms. A current valid driver's license is required.
