This position is part of the Rotary and Mission Systems business area, where employees across Canada support engineering, systems integration, training, sustainment and in-service support programs for Canadian and international military customers across land, air and sea.

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) is Canada's most successful Combat System Integrator (CSI) specializing in large, sophisticated integration projects. We are seeking motivated and high performing people with specific skills to become part of our dynamic Naval Programs team.
The Naval Programs team is responsible for technical planning, design, construction, system integration, Verification and Validation (V&V), cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Involvement as part of the total system product development includes: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The team ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
The Naval Programs team spans across Lockheed Martin's main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, and Dartmouth). Opportunities are available at all sites for supporting Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities.
The candidate will participate as a Systems Engineering member of the Naval Development team in a multi-disciplined team environment working on the total engineering life cycle from specification, design, development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for large scale high complexity naval platform systems.
The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:
- Collaborating on system design activities with systems engineering and other engineering staff, including supporting technical review
- Performing requirements analysis
- Reviewing requirements, requirements allocation and design standards
- Evaluating design evidence and assessing compliance to requirements, regulations and design standards
- Reviewing and preparing safety assessments and certification arguments
- Evaluating large complex systems for safety
- Supporting development of Combat System Vendor Statement of Work (SOW) for certification and safety related tasks
- Coordinating inputs to Sub-Contractor Data Requirements List (SDRL) deliverables
- Reviewing and coordinating inputs to evidence portfolio documents to submit for classification society or regulatory agencies review and approval
- Defining and tracking of Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs)
- Developing system architecture and design
- Preparing design documentation
- Preparing engineering change requests and assessing impacts of design changes
- Following systems engineering processes and best practices.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
- Possess a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university in engineering or a related discipline
- Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience. Equivalent experience/combined education will be considered
- Professional engineering license or willingness/ability to obtain P.Eng. is desirable for this role.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience:
- Experience with System, Electrical, or Hardware Maintenance engineering lifecycles
- Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work
- Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
- Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
- Have a high learning ability
- Ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment
- Experience with Military Naval domain, or integration of Combat Systems on Naval Ship
- Familiarity with Systems Modelling Language (SysML) or other object-oriented design methodology
- Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Rhapsody, ClearCase, ClearQuest or Windchill
- Experience with Agile methods
- Experience with Change Management, Requirements Management, Test and Trials (T&T), Security, Safety, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) or Environmental Qualification
- Knowledge of Hazardous material, prohibited by legislation, REACH and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
- Knowledge of Safety standards is desirable (i.e. MIL-STD-882)
- Knowledge of Military equipment (Combat Systems) is desirable.
