About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Management Specialist to join our team in Delta, BC on a permanent, full-time basis .

Reporting directly to the Manager, Quality Systems, the Quality Management Specialist is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring regulatory and company compliance, driving audit activities, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

More specifically, your main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring company performance against established quality targets and recommending improvements to achieve quality objectives
  • Managing supplier quality approvals, performance, and issue resolution
  • Leading and supporting investigations into product and process non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Leading and assisting with regulatory, customer, and third-party audits, including resolving audit findings
  • Performing internal and external compliance, process, and product quality audits
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving Quality Management System documentation, including manuals, operating procedures, and work instructions
  • Ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards, including AS9110 and National Aviation Authority requirements
  • Implementing and maintaining Approved Maintenance Organization status with Transport Canada Civil Aviation and foreign aviation authorities
  • Creating and presenting quality reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
  • Coordinating training and release activities related to quality system updates
  • Collaborating with the global MTU network to resolve MRO-specific quality issues
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6S, Kaizen, and other quality methodologies

More About You

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or a related field) and 3-5 years of experience in quality management, or an alternative combination of education and experience. Experience within aerospace maintenance or manufacturing environments is required.

Candidates must be eligible to comply with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program , including the ability to provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, and be willing and able to travel internationally on occasion.

Additionally, the following would be strong assets for this position:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar auditor/quality engineering certification
  • Advanced knowledge of AS9110 and National Aviation Authority regulations
  • Experience leading regulatory, customer, and third-party audits
  • Proficiency with SAP Quality modules and quality-related IT systems

About MTU Maintenance Canada

MTU Maintenance Canada Ltd. is an organization that is approved by the Federal Aviation Association (FAA), Transport Canada and other aviation authorities to inspect, maintain, repair, overhaul and test aircraft engines, modules, and components. MTU Canada is a North American member of the MTU Maintenance networks of companies, one of the largest provider of independent commercial engine services worldwide. The Canadian operations base serves in two locations in Delta and Richmond, British Columbia.

The Delta operations facility holds OEM technical data licenses required to maintain, repair and overhaul GE, IAE and CFMI engines: CF6-80, CFM56-2/3/7, F108, F138 and V2500 as well as a variety of other OEM licenses to perform MRO services on engine accessories for these and several other engine types. In 2022, MTU provided maintenance for V2500 and CF6-80 operators and owners and for the F108 and the F138 under USAF contracts.
