What You'll Do:
- Conduct a concise 20 – 30 minute nutrition assessment with clients during their Annual Health Assessment
- Assess macro- and micronutrient intake based on the client’s goals using 24-hour food records.
- Interpret blood test results when available, address client questions, concerns and goals
- Provide practical nutrition recommendations to improve clients’ nutrition status and help them achieve their goals
- Provide customized handouts to clients based on their interests and overall goals. Keep abreast of current scientific nutrition information to provide high quality care and evidenced based recommendations.
- Maintain electronic medical records and statistical data reports
- Coordinate with other clinic staff to facilitate efficient client flow and to ensure an exceptional delivery of service
- Other Administrative tasks as needed: communication updates to the Nutrition Team and Flow Coordinators re: schedule, capacity, eligible clients and reporting stats
- Participation in other initiatives such as Nutrition Month and nutrition-related staff programs
- Support the on-going development of the AHA Nutrition station and program offerings at Medcan
What You'll Need:
- Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical or outpatient setting
- Experience working on a multidisciplinary team/in a clinic environment with a variety of client populations
- Intermediate level skills in MS Office and MS Outlook
- Experience working with an EMR system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with youth 6 years and above an asset.
This is a part-time position that is scheduled 8.5 hours on Saturdays in-clinic during regular business hours with the opportunity to cover additional shifts Monday - Friday.
Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!
Position Pay Range
$30.68 - $42.19 CAD
Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
