About the role

Job Description Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Recruitment Specialist will provide recruiting expertise by developing recruitment strategies in alignment with the business’ workforce planning needs. The Recruitment Specialist will partner with hiring managers to attract, source and select top talent for the Cavendish Farms operations in New Annan, PEI.

Salary Range: $53,000 – 63,000

Work Location: New Annan, P.E.I.

Responsibilities

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • Recruitment experience required
  • Working knowledge of immigration processes, or the ability and willingness to learn
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively use HR systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and execute recruitment plans aligned to business needs
  • Manage full‑cycle recruitment, including posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for ongoing and seasonal hiring needs
  • Plan and deliver recruitment and career awareness initiatives, including student recruitment, job boards, career fairs, post‑secondary partnerships and community partners
  • Support candidates and employees through immigration‑related processes
  • Lead high volume seasonal (harvest) hiring initiatives
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of new hire information into HR systems, and manage the hire setup process from acceptance through onboarding
  • Support the annual workforce planning process
