About the role

Who you are

  • This role is ideal for a writer passionate about translating complex technical concepts into accessible, actionable content
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in enterprise software, AI/ML, or developer tools
  • Proven ability to explain complex technical systems (e.g., APIs, data security, LLMs) to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in documentation tools: Markdown, Git, static site generators, and API specification formats (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, and modern software development practices
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a user-centric mindset
  • Experience documenting AI platforms, security protocols, or enterprise workflow tools
  • Hands-on coding experience (Python, TypeScript, etc.)

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our North team, where you will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining clear, comprehensive documentation for our enterprise-ready AI platform
  • Your work will directly enable developers, Centers of Excellence, and end-users to effectively leverage North’s capabilities, from custom AI agents to secure workflow automations
  • Design and develop high-quality technical documentation for North's features, including APIs, product features like automations, document mode and chat, 1st Party/3rd Party Custom tools, and Security protocol
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and customer success teams to gather insights, understand new features, and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Create tutorials, quickstart guides, and best practices to help users deploy North’s AI agents and integrations (e.g., MCP servers, 1st Party connectors)
  • Organize and maintain a cohesive documentation architecture, ensuring content is discoverable, up-to-date, and aligned with Cohere’s style guide
  • Incorporate user feedback to iteratively improve documentation and address knowledge gaps
  • Contribute to processes on maintaining internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, empowering engineers to write effectively and confidently
