Business Development Coordinator
About the role
The Role: We are seeking an experienced Business Development Coordinator to join Francl Architecture’s team. Francl Architecture’s Business Development & Marketing team is focused in strengthening Francl's brand and positioning the firm to build lasting client relationships and win meaningful work.
The Business Development Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing this vision by 1) managing the preparation and coordination of responses to RFPs, RFQs, and other related procurement documents; and 2) supporting other marketing and business development initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring that all proposal content is accurate, timely, and aligned with client requirements and firm standards. The Business Development Coordinator also supports the maintenance of marketing collateral, proposal templates, and content databases to ensure consistency and efficiency in future responses, as well as in research, social media coordination and business development activities. The position involves collaborating with technical teams, leadership, and marketing staff to gather and format project information, resumes, and other materials for submission.
The role requires a strong willingness to learn attitude, interpersonal skills, strong organizational and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines. Familiarity with architectural language and design processes is important, as is proficiency with design and layout tools such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities & Expectations Proposal Management & Coordination Review and analyze RFP/RFQ requirements, ensuring compliance with submission criteria and deadlines. Lead kick-off meetings, check-in meetings and strategy throughout the proposal process. Collaborate with Principals, Project Leads, and technical staff to develop proposal strategies and gather relevant content. Write, edit, and organize content such as project descriptions, team bios, and firm narratives. Manage timelines, proposal schedules, and final delivery logistics (print and/or digital). Marketing and Business Development Assist with interview preparation, conference presentations, award submissions, and other marketing collateral updates (e.g. social media, website) Lead research initiatives to develop a strong understanding of what is happening in the industry and what are projects to begin pre-positioning for. Update internal databases (e.g., CRM, project archives) and proposal trackers. Support team in preparing materials for client meetings and internal communications.
Qualifications / Assets Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Communications, Architecture, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in proposal coordination, marketing, or project support within an architecture, engineering, or design environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise proposal content and collaboration with internal teams. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple deadlines and coordinate complex proposal processes. Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure error-free, high-quality submissions that reflect the firm’s standards. Highly personable with an aptitude to growing relationships, learning, and resourcefulness. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign) for layout, formatting, and visual presentation of proposals. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation and data management. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Capacity for complex problem-solving and decision-making under pressure. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self starter and requires minimal day-to-day supervision.
Salary: Annual Salary: $70,000 - $77,000 Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
