About the Role: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic partner to leaders across the Swish Group of Companies, responsible for strengthening leadership capability, driving performance discipline, and ensuring effective alignment of talent to business needs.

This role plays a critical part in building “Managers Who Lead” by supporting leaders in performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, and ongoing talent evaluation — including Right Person, Right Seat alignment.

A key focus of the role is to act as a trusted partner, proactively coaching leaders to address issues early, build leadership capability, and uphold consistent performance standards across the organization.

**Reports to:**Director of Human Resources

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Employee Relations

  • Coach and support leaders on performance management, feedback, and accountability, building consistent leadership capability across the organization
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing perspective and constructive challenge to drive strong people and business outcomes
  • Partner with leaders to proactively identify and address performance, conduct, and team dynamics issues early
  • Provide clear, practical recommendations on people-related decisions, balancing business needs, employee advocacy, and risk to achieve fair and effective outcomes
  • Act as an advocate for employees while supporting leaders, balancing perspectives to develop fair, practical, and sustainable solutions to employee relations matters
  • Provide day-to-day employee relations guidance, including coaching leaders through complex and sensitive situations with confidence and consistency
  • Lead and support workplace investigations, ensuring fair, consistent, and well-documented outcomes
  • Advise leaders on progressive discipline and terminations, ensuring sound judgment and risk mitigation
  • Reinforce leadership standards by holding managers accountable to consistent performance and people management practices

Talent & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Support and guide the annual performance review cycle to ensure consistency and quality across the organization
  • Drive ongoing talent evaluation, including Right Person, Right Seat alignment
  • Partner on workforce planning and organizational design, ensuring team structures, role clarity, and cost alignment support business objectives
  • Support succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and development opportunities
  • Identify leadership capability gaps and design and implement targeted development initiatives to strengthen leadership effectiveness
  • Provide compensation guidance, including benchmarking and internal equity considerations

Engagement, Insights & Change

  • Lead the employee engagement strategy, including ownership of the eNPS program, driving survey execution, analyzing results, and providing actionable recommendations to improve engagement and retention
  • Leverage HR data and metrics (e.g., engagement, turnover, performance trends) to generate insights, inform decision-making, and proactively address organizational risks and opportunities
  • Lead and support the people-side of organizational change, including planning, stakeholder alignment, and execution to ensure successful adoption

Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Develop and deliver clear, concise, and well-crafted written communications for leaders and employees, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and messaging standards
  • Ensure consistent application and interpretation of HR policies, practices, and standards across the organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align people strategies with business priorities
  • Maintain alignment with the broader HR team to ensure consistency in approach, standards, and messaging
  • Partner with and support the HR Operations function as needed, contributing to key initiatives, projects, and overall team execution

What You Bring: Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with strong exposure to Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships with leaders and influence without direct authority
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex employee relations matters, including investigations and terminations
  • Experience coaching leaders through performance, engagement, and organizational challenges
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and applicable employment legislation
  • Experience working within an HRIS / HCM system

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and polished communications for diverse audiences, including executives, leaders, and employees
  • High comfort level with difficult conversations and conflict resolution
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through (high Say-Do ratio)
  • Ability to balance business needs with employee experience and risk management
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace (Excel required)

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Variable compensation: Annual performance bonus eligibility
