About the role

Releasing the Genius is an innovative leader in Mathematics, English, and Technology education, offering a system of after-school classes for high-performing and gifted students. The mission of our schools is to promote co-operation, inspire confidence, and release the genius in every child. Working in the Learning and Development Department, the Adult Education Associate is primarily responsible for the ongoing research and development of business and education courses and programs for adults.

Reporting Responsibilities

This Adult Education Associate will report directly to the Director of Learning and Development.

Education Required:
A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or College. A Bachelor’s in Education is valued, but not mandatory. A Spirit of Math Teacher Certification is preferred.

Decision-Making Ability:
The successful candidate should be capable of independently achieving objectives which demonstrate professional educational judgement.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
This individual has experience in the education and operations sectors. They have acquired a solid understanding of the unique aspects of the SoM approach to learning.

This role requires someone who is aware of trends in the larger education community in the area of adult education (AEd.). They should have knowledge of adult learning principles both online and in-person and how to apply them when developing programs and creating new curricula. They should be able to recognize the best teaching and learning practices and know how to incorporate them within the courses.

This person should have a high attention to detail and expertise in instructional design and course development. They must have exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This role requires comfort and confidence with technology. Specifically, this individual has experience with the administration of learning management systems, using Microsoft Office Suite and should be familiar with or willing to learn the Adobe Creative Suite

(particularly Adobe InDesign), Microsoft SharePoint and other online systems. This role requires continuous learning of new technologies and how they interact and impact our society.

**Specific Responsibilities:**The following are the key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the highest standards are maintained in all programs developed and delivered by the Adults Education department.
  • Initiate and supervise projects that relate to adult education, or assist with other projects of the department, as needed.
  • Research, review, and identify potential improvements to existing programs and courses through pilot programs, collaboration with internal and/or external stakeholders, and controlled experiments.
  • Create or edit curriculum and related content for all Adult Education courses in a timely manner maintaining brand standards, consistency, and quality.
  • Developing, organizing, and/or running training and information sessions related to all related operational and educational processes or programs
  • Teach courses and test potential improvements to the Adult Education programs.
  • Manage and/or review online systems for registration, grading, data collection, analysis, and support
  • Develop systems and surveys to assess and obtain quantitative and qualitative data on the quality and efficiency of all AEd. programs.
  • Conduct regular inspections for all programs and report to the manager.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quantitative and qualitative data relevant to the program as well as research and any other relevant feedback.
  • Contribute to projects from the Learning and Development Department as needed.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments and HQ clients as needed on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensuring timely completion of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) on their job scorecard, tasks, goals, and deadlines
  • Keep up and contribute to professional development as needed.
  • Attending and contributing to the yearly conference.
  • Other duties as needed to support evolving business needs.

**Authorities:**The Adult Education Associate has the following authorities:

  • Setting expectations for education standards for all internal education training
  • Inspecting campuses to ensure they are compliant with all RTG and SoM education requirements
  • Hiring, managing, coaching, and deselecting internal and external trainers
  • Setting departmental KPIs based on identified goals (i.e. deadlines and work accomplished) for their team
  • Researching and monitoring the efficiency of the training programs and making suggestions for changes to the department head
  • Monitoring all projects that relate to the adult education programs, professional development sessions, and online courses.
