The Senior Hardware Designer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and industrialization of HumanWare electronic products. The incumbent owns complex hardware development activities, makes critical technical decisions, manages hardware risks, and supports the engineering team throughout the complete product lifecycle. The role serves as a hardware technical reference, contributing to product architecture, technology choices, supplier collaboration, and continuous improvement of HumanWare hardware platforms.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design and architecture of complex electronic hardware solutions.
• Define hardware design approaches, component selection strategies, and technical solutions.
• Own critical hardware subsystems from concept definition through production release.
• Lead schematic design, PCB development, hardware validation, and board bring-up activities.
• Analyze complex hardware issues and lead root cause investigations.
• Define hardware test strategies to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance during design reviews and engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Manage technical interactions with suppliers and development partners.
• Support certification activities and compliance requirements.
• Lead product transfer activities and support manufacturing ramp-up.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced hardware engineers.
• Evaluate emerging hardware technologies and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to hardware roadmap and long-term technology strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in electronic circuit design and embedded hardware development.

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of electronic circuit design and embedded hardware architectures.
• Advanced experience with schematic design, PCB development, and hardware debugging.
• Strong experience with embedded systems, power management, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience leading complex product development activities.
• Experience with suppliers, manufacturing transfer, and product certification processes.
