We currently have an opening for a Senior Environmental Project Manager for Transportation projects in our Edmonton office. You have a strong background in navigating the provincial and federal legislation for transportation and linear projects. You are a leader, a collaborator and have the ability think critically to solve problems. You will take on a strong role in proposal writing, project planning and implementation, project management, quality assurance and client and business development.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Business development, including developing and managing client relationships, and strategic proposal writing.
- Leading and managing the environmental aspects of transportation projects, including environmental studies, permitting, tender development, contract administration, and construction compliance.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into project design and implementation.
- Providing expert guidance on environmental regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure project compliance.
- Acting as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
- Graduate degree in an environmental discipline (e.g. biology, environmental science, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science).
- 14+ years of experience in consulting (with a focus on transportation projects based in Alberta).
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a professional designation (P. Ag, P. Biol., P, Geol., RPF) and have experience with Alberta’s regulatory framework.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate environmental requirements into engineering projects at the proposal, business development, pre-design, design, tender and construction phases.
- Proven experience as an effective and results-driven project manager.
- Strong knowledge of the Alberta market, including key local and regional stakeholders, with an in-depth understanding of environmental regulatory frameworks and policies.
- Valid driver’s licence.
