About the role

LTL Group Ltd. is seeking reliable and hardworking Accounting Supervisor to join our team. As the Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with management to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and maintain accurate records of all company transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Payroll functions, including task delegation, workload balancing and training.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to accounting staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professional growth.
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, expense report review, vendor payments, and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and cash application,
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with provincial and federal regulations, coordinating updates with the payroll.
  • Review and approve accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, proper coding, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
  • Support external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Provide accurate, timely financial information and analysis to management as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a VALID Class G license.
  • Education: Education Background in Accounting – College or University (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Analytical Ability: Excellent problem- solving and analytical skills for reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Leadership: Ability to supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and cross-department coordination.

Working Schedule:

This is a full- time position requiring 40 hours per week. Schedule will be Monday – Friday 8:00-4:30.
