About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Generating revenue and meeting sales targets.
  • Developing and qualifying leads within the respective territory through cold-calling and lead generation.
  • Handling routine customer problems and interfacing between company and customer.
  • Maintaining good working relationships and account management with existing customers and recognizing opportunities to up sell additional services.
  • Promoting services via daily proactive calls on and off the road with existing and potential customers.
  • Providing sales strategies, marketing ideas and new concepts, and developing business plans to successfully execute strategies to grow profitable revenue.
  • Completing waste inventories, collecting pertinent waste information, and sampling of waste at generator sites.
  • Maintaining a fundamental understanding of appropriate legislation including Ontario Ministry of Environment Regulation 347, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc., enabling you to successfully promote regulatory compliance to customers.
  • Preparing quotations, work orders and report activity through the Operation Management System (custom software).
  • Keeping abreast of products, market conditions and competitive activities.

Knowledge, Skills And Key Competencies

  • College diploma or university degree in Sales and Marketing or related technical discipline is (preferred)
  • New business-to business (B2B) sales experience
  • Hunter sales mentality- goal driven self-motivated
  • 2 – 5+ years of outside sales experience
  • Industrial or environmental business-to business experience (preferred)
  • Proven ability to take initiative time management skills and display of professionalism.
  • Creative problem solving and strong team building skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Travelling on the road within assigned territory.
  • May require overnight trips.
