The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Crisis Management to lead and strengthen our crisis management framework, ensuring Aviva Canada is prepared for and resilient to incidents and emergencies. This role is critical to safeguarding our operations and supporting business continuity.

As a strategic leader, you’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, influence senior decision-makers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements—all while driving a culture of readiness and resilience.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and enhance Aviva Canada’s crisis management program and response plans to meet business and regulatory requirements (OSFI E-21).
  • Act as the primary facilitator during incidents, leading Bronze and Silver Crisis Management Teams and ensuring timely decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and maintain effective controls to manage operational and regulatory risks.
  • Partner with senior leaders and external stakeholders to embed crisis readiness and promote a culture of resilience.
  • Deliver training, simulations, and awareness programs, and track KPIs to measure program effectiveness.
  • Monitor emerging risks and implement corrective measures following major events.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in crisis management, emergency management, business continuity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in crisis management, emergency management, or business continuity.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire senior stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of managing major incidents in complex organizations. Exceptional writing and presentation skills to communicate clearly and confidently.

What makes you stand out

  • Experience in insurance or financial services.
  • Professional certifications like CBCP, PMP, or similar.
  • Bilingual in English and French. Familiarity with regulatory environments or working with regulatory bodies.
